This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Dirt Separator, Model 4904D, is a highly efficient device designed to eliminate dirt and debris from hydronic systems. With a 4" flanged connection and a maximum working pressure of 125 psi, this separator is suitable for use in commercial applications. The product works by utilizing centrifugal force to remove dirt particles from the system's water flow. As water enters the separator, it is forced into a spiral flow pattern, which causes heavier particles like dirt and sediment to be thrown outward towards the separator's walls. These particles then settle into a collection chamber at the bottom of the separator, which can be easily removed for cleaning. By removing dirt and debris from the system, this separator helps to improve overall system efficiency and reduce maintenance requirements.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
