Grundfos PACO KP Horizontal Split Case Pumps

Horizontal split case pumps are single-stage, between-bearing centrifugal pumps designed for fluid movement in commercial building, water utility, and industrial systems. Their axially split-case, double volute design supports demanding applications where service-friendly access, reduced vibration, quiet operation, and efficient hydraulic performance are important to long-term reliability and dependable liquid transport.

High-Capacity Performance for Demanding Water Applications

The KP horizontal split-case pump is a single-stage, non-self-priming, between-bearing centrifugal pump designed for high-flow applications and dependable long-term performance. Built with an axially split casing, the KP allows the top casing to be removed for quick access to key internal components, including the bearings, wear rings, impeller, and shaft seal—without disturbing the motor or pipework.

Its double volute hydraulic design helps reduce radial load on the shaft, minimizing vibration, lowering internal recirculation and turbulence, and helping extend pump life. The result is a smoother, quieter operation with improved efficiency in demanding commercial and industrial systems.

The KP is engineered for serviceability, efficiency, and flexibility. Its independent bearing housing allows maintenance access without removing the top half of the casing, while standard bronze wear rings help protect against erosion and simplify the process of maintaining proper running clearances. A compact horizontal configuration also helps save space and reduces the clearance needed around the pump for maintenance.

Designed to deliver flow rates up to 20,000 gallons per minute, the KP pump is well suited for high-capacity water movement applications. Its Francis vane impeller design, extended vanes, enlarged eye, integrally cast suction baffles, and optimized suction chamber configuration help improve hydraulic efficiency, reduce noise and vibration, and lower net positive suction head requirements.

With a wide range of material, impeller, and shaft seal options available, the KP horizontal split-case pump can be customized for specialized and challenging applications.
