Designed to effectively purge air from closed-loop heating and cooling systems, Taco 4900 Series Bronze Air Separators operate up to a peak temperature of 240°F and withstand a pressure maximum of 150 psi. These separators employ a patented and tested method known as the PALL ring process, a technique acclaimed for its efficient gas removal from water. The PALL ring process is particularly effective in micro-bubble separation, negating the harmful impacts and bothersome noise associated with excess air in the system.
4900 Series Commercial Air Separators
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators enhance system efficiency and longevity by removing air, dirt, and other impurities. Preventing issues like reduced heat transfer, efficiency loss, pipe corrosion, pump damage, and noise mitigates unnecessary energy consumption, saving money. The separators use patented PALL ring technology and an optional switchable on/off magnet to remove microbubbles as tiny as 18 x 10 -6 meters and contaminants such as magnetite, sand, dirt, and rust.
Leveraging the PALL ring design, the 4900 Series employs coalescence to gather and combine microbubbles, which are then vented out through the integral vent mechanism on the vessel's top. The PALL rings halt the momentum of dirt particles, allowing them to drop to the vessel's bottom and be expelled via the integral full port blow-down valve. The optional on/off magnet attracts black iron oxide and magnetite with its high-powered neodymium magnet assembly. This unique feature facilitates easy maintenance by reducing the time and effort required to collect and flush out magnetite from the system, making these separators especially beneficial for systems with variable speed, ECM, and constant flow needs.
The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator also offers third-party independent testing agency results, instilling confidence in the 4900 models' performance. The Taco 4900 Series Tanks are designed and built according to the ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 requirements, ensuring a high-quality product. All manufacturing is done in-house, further guaranteeing a high standard of quality. A computerized product selection tool assists in choosing the Air, Air/Dirt, or Air & Magnetic Dirt Separator best suited for your specific application needs.
5900 Series FlexBalance Air Separators
Taco's innovative 5900 Series FlexBalance Air Separators, patented for their unique design, function as a hydraulic bridge between primary and secondary heating and cooling circuits, bolstering system energy efficiency and enabling the use of smaller pumps in each system loop. These separators are engineered to prevent hydraulic pump coupling or series alignment by primary/secondary configurations, mitigating unexpected ghost-flows triggered by oversized pumps in primary and secondary circuits. Enhanced air and dirt separation capabilities are offered with the optional inclusion of a 304SS PALL ring basket within the 5900 Series FlexBalance configuration. These air separator tanks are designed and built according to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards, guaranteeing a high-quality product. To ensure the utmost level of quality, all fabrication processes are conducted in-house.
AC/ACF Series In-Line Air Separators

ACT Series Tangential Air Separators
Taco's ACT Series Tangential Air Separators uphold the company's reputation for quality and performance. The highly effective tangential design facilitates the system's purge of free air and minimizes undissolved sediment, leading to cost savings, energy conservation, and reduced wear on system components. Built, designed, and stringently tested to meet ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards, the ACT Series Tangential Air Separator tanks ensure superior quality. A computerized product selection tool is available to assist in finding the perfect air separator tank tailored to your specific application needs. All fabrication processes are conducted in-house to maintain the highest standard of quality assurance.
Hydro-Sep Hydraulic Separators
Taco's Hydro-Sep Hydraulic Separators serve as compact and economical solutions that facilitate quick and effective installation of primary/secondary piping in a variety of boilers. These unique separators also extract unwanted air and dirt particles, protecting system components from potential damage. They are especially well-suited to today's smaller boilers, which often exhibit higher flow resistance.
The Taco Hydro-Sep Hydraulic Separator is the perfect companion for modern-day, widespread use of Primary Secondary piping. By incorporating the efficient and compact Taco Hydro-Sep Hydraulic Separator, you can prevent piping errors, decrease installation time, and conserve valuable mechanical room space. For systems using boilers with higher pressure drops, the hydraulic separator enables the potential use of a smaller zone circulator, as it's not required to compensate for the additional head loss associated with the boiler. Concurrently, the boiler pump can maintain a steady flow through the boiler. Added features of the Hydro-Sep Hydraulic Separator include air venting via the Taco Hy-Vent and sediment removal through the bottom valve.
