Taco VR1816 ECM High-Efficiency Circulators

Taco VR1816 ECM high-efficiency circulators are wet rotor pumps designed for closed-loop hydronic systems using circulator zoning, zone valves, or panel radiators with thermostatic radiator valves. Their ECM motor, infinitely variable fixed speed, constant pressure, proportional pressure, SureStart protection, and Integral Flow Check support applications where low electrical use, precise flow matching, quiet operation, and dependable circulation are important.

Taco VR1816 ECM High-Efficiency Circulators for Hydronic Heating, Zone Valve Systems, Panel Radiators, and Closed-Loop HVAC Applications

Taco VR1816 ECM High-Efficiency Circulators are variable speed wet rotor circulators designed for closed-loop hydronic heating systems, zoning applications, and panel radiator systems with thermostatic radiator valves. Built with high-efficiency ECM motor technology, the VR1816 helps reduce electrical consumption while giving contractors a flexible circulator platform for different system control strategies.

The VR1816 is designed around three operating approaches: infinitely variable fixed speed, constant pressure, and proportional pressure. Fixed Speed Mode allows the circulator flow rate to be fine-tuned to match design load conditions, making it useful for systems zoned with circulators. Constant Pressure Mode maintains a constant pressure differential as heating load changes, making it well suited for zone valve systems. Proportional Pressure Mode adjusts the pressure differential as flow demand changes, making it a strong fit for panel radiators with thermostatic radiator valves.

With an easy-to-use dial, six pressure presets, and 5-color LED feedback for operating mode and diagnostics, the VR1816 is designed to make ECM setup simple in the field. Taco’s SureStart® feature automatically purges air and unblocks the pump, helping reduce callbacks, while the BIO Barrier® filter helps protect the pump from system contaminants.

The VR1816 also includes contractor-friendly installation details such as dual electrical knockouts, 6-inch stranded wire leads, double-insulated construction, Integral Flow Check, whisper-quiet operation, and optional 2-way flange compatibility for universal fit-up. With flow capacity up to 16 GPM, head up to 18 feet, 125 PSI maximum operating pressure, and 120V single-phase power, the Taco VR1816 is a practical high-efficiency replacement and upgrade option for residential and light commercial closed-loop hydronic systems.
