This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4908AG, is designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. It is an 8" grooved connection with a maximum working pressure of 150 psi. The air separator works by using centrifugal force to separate the air from the water in the system, which reduces noise and improves efficiency. The separated air is then released through a vent valve while the water continues to flow through the system. The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator is made with durable materials to ensure long-lasting performance and easy maintenance. It is an essential component for any commercial hydronic system that requires efficient operation and reduced downtime due to air buildup.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
