This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4903AD, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. With a 3" flanged connection and a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi, this separator is suitable for use in commercial applications. The unit works by utilizing a patented PALL ring technology that separates the air and dirt from the water flow. As the water flows through the separator, the PALL rings create a low-velocity zone where the air and dirt can collect. The separated contaminants are then vented out of the system through an automatic air vent. This process helps to improve system efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment life.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
