This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4916AH, is a high velocity, 16" flanged connection device with a base ring. It is designed to remove air and other gases from hydronic heating and cooling systems. As the fluid enters the separator, it flows through a coalescing medium that separates the air and other gases from the liquid. The separated gas then rises to the top of the unit and is vented to the atmosphere through an automatic air vent. This process ensures that the system operates at maximum efficiency by preventing air pockets from forming in pipes or radiators which can cause damage to equipment and decrease overall system performance. With a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi, this commercial air separator is ideal for use in large-scale hydronic systems found in commercial buildings such as hospitals, schools, and office buildings.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
