This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 49025AR, is designed to efficiently remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. The removable top cover allows for easy access to the internal components for maintenance and cleaning. With a 2.5" flanged connection, this air separator can handle high flow rates up to 125 psi. The device works by using a coalescing medium that separates air from the system fluid, allowing it to be vented out of the system through an automatic air vent valve. This helps prevent issues such as reduced heat transfer efficiency and pump cavitation that can arise from air bubbles in the system fluid. The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator is a reliable and effective solution for maintaining optimal performance in hydronic systems.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
