This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4908ADR, is designed to effectively remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. Its removable top cover allows for easy access during maintenance and cleaning. With an 8" flanged connection and a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi, this separator can handle high flow rates in commercial applications. The device works by using a coalescing medium to remove air and a stainless-steel mesh screen to capture dirt particles. As the fluid enters the separator, it slows down, allowing the air and dirt to separate from the water and collect in the separator's lower chamber. This results in improved system efficiency and reduced maintenance costs over time.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
