This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4908AD, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic heating and cooling systems. It features an 8" flanged connection and can withstand pressures up to 250 psi. The separator works by creating a low-velocity zone that allows air and dirt to separate from the water in the system. The separated air is vented out of the top of the unit, while the separated dirt is collected in the bottom of the unit for easy removal. This product is ideal for use in large commercial applications where maintaining optimal system performance is critical.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
