This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4908AR, is an efficient tool for removing air and microbubbles from hydronic systems. The removable top cover allows for easy access to the internal components of the separator for maintenance and cleaning. With an 8" flanged connection and a base ring, this separator can be easily installed into any hydronic system. It has a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi, making it suitable for use in high-pressure systems. The air separator works by utilizing centrifugal force to separate air and microbubbles from the water in the system, improving overall system efficiency and preventing damage caused by air pockets.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
