This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 49025ADR, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. The removable top cover allows for easy access to the internal components for maintenance. With a 2.5" flanged connection, this separator can handle up to 150 psi of pressure. As water flows through the separator, it is forced through a stainless-steel mesh element that captures any air or dirt particles present in the system. These particles are then removed through a blowdown valve located at the bottom of the unit. This separator is an essential component in any hydronic heating or cooling system, ensuring efficient operation and prolonging the life of equipment by preventing damage from air and dirt buildup.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
