This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4906AD, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems with a maximum working pressure of 250 psi. The separator features a 6" flanged connection for easy installation and maintenance. It works by utilizing the principle of centrifugal separation to remove air and dirt particles from the system fluid. As the fluid enters the separator, it is forced to change direction, causing heavier particles to be thrown outward and collected in a chamber at the bottom of the unit. Meanwhile, lighter particles are carried along with the fluid flow and discharged through an upper outlet. This product is an effective solution for maintaining system efficiency and preventing damage caused by air and dirt buildup in commercial hydronic systems.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
