This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 49025AHT, is designed to remove air and other micro-bubbles from hydronic heating and cooling systems. With a high velocity of up to 125 psi, this separator uses a tangential flow design to create centrifugal force that separates the air from the water. The separated air rises to the top of the separator and is vented out through an automatic air vent, while the water exits through a bottom outlet. Equipped with a 2.5" threaded connection, this separator can handle large volumes of fluid flow in commercial applications. The Taco 4900 series commercial air separator is an essential component in any hydronic system that requires efficient and reliable removal of air and micro-bubbles for optimal performance.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
