This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4905ADH, is a high-velocity separator designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. The separator features a 5" flanged connection and can handle pressures up to 125 psi. Equipped with a base ring, the separator ensures easy installation and maintenance. The product works by utilizing centrifugal force to separate air and dirt particles from the water in the system. As the water enters the separator, it is forced into a high-velocity spin that causes heavier particles to be thrown towards the outer edge of the tank where they can be easily removed through a blowdown valve. The cleaner water then exits through the top of the separator, ready for use in the hydronic system.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
