This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4906AG, is designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. With a grooved connection of 6 inches and a maximum pressure rating of 125 psi, this air separator is ideal for use in commercial applications. The unit works by utilizing a patented PALL ring technology that creates a low-velocity centrifugal flow. This flow allows for the separation and removal of microbubbles and other entrained air from the system's water. The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator improves system efficiency, reduces maintenance costs, and extends equipment life by preventing corrosion and pump cavitation caused by trapped air.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
