This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4905AD, is designed for use in hydronic systems to remove air and dirt from the system. It features a 5" flanged connection and can withstand pressures up to 125 psi. The base ring provides stability during installation. The separator works by using a coalescing medium to capture and remove air and dirt particles from the system fluid. As the fluid flows through the separator, the coalescing medium causes small particles to clump together into larger ones that can be easily removed through a blowdown valve. This product is an effective solution for maintaining optimal performance in hydronic systems, preventing damage caused by air and dirt buildup.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
