This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4916AHR, is a high velocity air separator designed for use in hydronic systems. Its removable top cover makes it easy to maintain and clean, while its 16" flanged connection ensures a secure fit. With a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi, this air separator is built to withstand high-pressure systems. The device works by removing air bubbles from the water in the system, improving efficiency and preventing damage to pumps and other components. As water flows through the device, any entrained air is separated out and vented to the atmosphere through an automatic air vent. This ensures that only water circulates through the system, improving overall performance and reducing maintenance requirements.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
