This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4903A, is a reliable and efficient solution for removing air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. With a 3" flanged connection and a maximum pressure of 125 psi, this air separator is suitable for use in commercial applications. Its primary secondary air (psa) compatibility allows it to work seamlessly with modern hydronic systems. The Taco 4900 Series Air Separator works by using centrifugal force to separate air from the water in the system. As water enters the separator, it is forced to spin rapidly, causing any entrained air to be thrown to the outside of the separator where it can be safely vented out of the system. This process ensures that only clean, air-free water circulates through the system, improving its efficiency and reducing maintenance requirements.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
