This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4910AH, is a high-velocity, 10" flanged connection device designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. The air separator operates by creating a low-velocity zone where microbubbles can collect and rise to the top of the unit. The bubbles are then vented out of the system through an automatic air vent. This process helps to improve system efficiency by preventing air pockets from forming, which can cause flow disruptions and reduce heat transfer. With a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi, this air separator is suitable for use in commercial and industrial applications where high flow rates are required.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
