This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4908ADB, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. It features an 8" flanged connection and a maximum working pressure of 125 psi. The removable bottom cover allows for easy maintenance and cleaning. As water flows through the separator, it enters a chamber where the velocity is reduced, causing air and dirt particles to settle out of the water. These particles are then trapped in the bottom of the separator, which can be easily removed for cleaning. This product is ideal for use in commercial hydronic systems where air and dirt can cause damage to pumps, valves, and other system components.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
