This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4916ADH, is a high velocity separator designed for use in hydronic systems. It features a 16" flanged connection and can operate at pressures up to 125 psi. The base ring provides stability during installation and operation. The separator works by removing air and dirt particles from the system, improving its efficiency and reducing maintenance requirements. As water flows through the separator, it is directed in a spiral motion, allowing the heavier particles to settle at the bottom while the lighter air rises to the top where it can be vented out of the system. This process helps prevent blockages and corrosion caused by sediment buildup, extending the life of the system components.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
