This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4904A, is designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. It features a 4" flanged connection and can handle pressures up to 125 psi. The primary secondary air (psa) compatibility ensures efficient operation with modern hydronic systems. The separator works by utilizing the difference in density between air and water to separate the two substances. As water flows through the device, any entrained air rises to the top and is vented out of the system through an automatic air vent. This process helps prevent issues such as noise, reduced heat transfer, and corrosion caused by trapped air in the system. The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator is an essential component for any hydronic system looking to operate at peak efficiency.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
