This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4910AHG, is a high velocity separator designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. With a grooved connection of 10 inches and a maximum pressure rating of 125 psi, this air separator can handle large volumes of water and air. The device uses centrifugal force to remove the air bubbles that can cause inefficiencies in hydronic systems, such as reduced heat transfer and increased corrosion. As water enters the separator, it is forced to spin rapidly, causing the heavier water molecules to move towards the outer edge while lighter air bubbles are pushed towards the center. The air is then vented out through an automatic float vent. This process ensures that only pure water flows through the system, improving its efficiency and longevity.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
