This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4903AH, is a high-velocity, 3" flanged connection device designed to remove air and microbubbles from hydronic systems. The device utilizes centrifugal force to separate air and other gases from the system fluid. As the fluid enters the separator, it is directed in a spiral motion which creates a centrifugal force that separates the air from the fluid. The separated air then rises to the top of the separator where it can be vented out of the system through an automatic air vent. This commercial-grade product is capable of handling pressures up to 125 psi and is suitable for use in a wide range of hydronic applications.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
