This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4908ADH, is designed to remove air and dirt particles from hydronic heating and cooling systems. The separator features an 8" flanged connection and can withstand pressures of up to 150 psi. Equipped with a base ring, the separator is easy to install and maintain. As water flows through the separator, it creates a low-velocity zone that allows air and dirt particles to separate from the water. The separated particles are then collected in the bottom of the separator for easy removal. With its high velocity capabilities, this Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator is an ideal choice for larger commercial hydronic systems where efficient particle removal is critical to system performance.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
