This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Dirt Separator, Model 4908D, is designed for use in hydronic systems with a maximum pressure of 125 psi. The separator works by removing dirt and debris from the system's circulating water, preventing damage to pumps, valves, and other components. Its 8" flanged connection allows for easy installation and maintenance. The separator features a stainless steel mesh screen that captures particles as small as 5 microns, while its internal baffles slow down the flow of water to allow for effective removal of sediment and other contaminants. With its durable construction and efficient design, the Taco 4900 Series Commercial Dirt Separator is an ideal choice for any hydronic system in need of reliable dirt removal.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
