This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4914AHR, is designed to remove air from hydronic heating and cooling systems. With a high velocity design and a removable top cover, this air separator makes maintenance easy. Its 14" flanged connection allows for easy installation into any hydronic system. This air separator is rated for a maximum pressure of 150 psi, making it suitable for use in commercial applications. The Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator works by using centrifugal force to separate the air from the water in the system. As the water enters the separator, it is forced to spin at high velocity, which causes the air to be thrown to the outside of the unit where it can be vented away. This process ensures that only water remains in the hydronic system, which improves its efficiency and reduces wear on components like pumps and valves.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
