This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air Separator, Model 4908AH, is a high-velocity separator designed for use in hydronic systems. The 8" flanged connection allows for easy installation and maintenance. With a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi, this air separator can handle high-pressure systems with ease. The unique design of the separator ensures that air is removed from the system quickly and efficiently, improving overall system performance and reducing energy costs. As water enters the separator, it is forced to change direction rapidly, causing any entrained air to separate from the water and rise to the top of the unit where it can be vented out of the system. 4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
