The White Family Legacy
Founded in 1920 as the Thermal Appliance Company by Elwood White, Taco’s first product offering was a firepot generator that heated water over a coal fire. Under the leadership of White’s son, John Hazen White, the company expanded, and the Thermal Appliance Company name was shortened to T-A-C-O or Taco.
John Hazen White, Jr., has led Taco into a period of growth and prosperity. As the family’s third-generation owner, Johnny carried his father’s vision forward by building out the company’s first-class training facility, developing new high-efficiency products and technologies, and expanding into international markets. Johnny’s two sons, John III and Ben represent the family’s fourth generation of ownership and are also actively involved in the executive leadership of the Taco Family of Companies.

Charitable Giving and Community Support
