Grundfos CRIE Vertical In-Line Multistage Pumps for Variable-Speed Pressure Boosting, Water Treatment, HVAC, and Industrial Process Systems
Grundfos CRIE Vertical In-Line Multistage Pumps are electronically controlled centrifugal pumps designed for applications requiring high pressure, efficient variable-speed operation, and stainless-steel wetted components. Combining the hydraulic design of the Grundfos CRI range with an integrated frequency-controlled motor, CRIE pumps are well suited for pressure boosting, water treatment, industrial process water, HVAC, cooling, circulation, and other systems with changing flow or pressure requirements.
The Grundfos CRIE uses a vertical, multistage centrifugal design with suction and discharge ports positioned at the same level in an in-line arrangement. Multiple impeller stages allow the pump to generate substantial head while the vertical configuration minimizes floor-space requirements, making CRIE pumps particularly useful in mechanical rooms, process skids, packaged systems, and industrial facilities where installation space is limited.
A key distinction of the CRIE range is its stainless-steel hydraulic construction. Grundfos CRI pumps use AISI 304 stainless steel for wetted components, providing good corrosion resistance for water and slightly aggressive compatible liquids.
Variable-speed operation allows the CRIE to adjust pump performance according to actual system requirements. Instead of continuously operating at full speed and relying on throttling to control flow or pressure, the pump can reduce or increase motor speed as demand changes. This can improve process control while reducing unnecessary pumping energy in variable-load applications.
