This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4914AD, is a highly efficient solution for removing air and dirt from hydronic systems. With a flanged connection of 14" and a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi, this separator is perfect for commercial applications. The base ring ensures easy installation and maintenance. The separator works by utilizing the principle of centrifugal separation to remove air and dirt particles from the system's water flow. As the water enters the separator, it is forced to change direction, causing heavier particles like dirt to settle at the bottom while lighter air bubbles rise to the top. This process ensures that only clean water flows through the system, improving its efficiency and lifespan.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
