This Taco Suction Diffuser Rear Strainer Pullout (RSP) is a flanged device that can handle pressures up to 250 psi. It has a 6" x 5" size, and it is designed to work with pumps by removing debris from the fluid before it reaches the pump, thus reducing maintenance costs and increasing the lifespan of the pump. The suction diffuser works by creating a low-pressure zone at the inlet of the pump, which causes any debris in the fluid to settle at the bottom of the diffuser's strainer. These Taco suction diffusers provide maximum flow efficiency at the pump's suction inlet while reducing space and fitting requirements. This eliminates the need for an equivalent length of ten pipe diameters of straight run on the pump's suction side.
This flow straightening device incorporates numerous features into one device, simplifying installations and reducing installation costs. They act as an elbow (and, in some cases, a reducing elbow) with a built-in strainer.
