This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4906ADM, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. Equipped with a switchable on/off magnet, this separator can effectively capture both magnetic and non-magnetic particles up to 5 microns in size. Its 6" flanged connection allows for easy installation and maintenance while its maximum pressure rating of 150 psi ensures reliable performance in high-pressure applications. The separator works by utilizing the principle of centrifugal separation to remove air and dirt from the system's fluid flow. As water flows through the separator, it is forced to change direction, causing heavier particles such as dirt to settle at the bottom of the unit while lighter particles such as air rise to the top where they are vented out of the system. 4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
