This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4908AD, is designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. It features an 8" flanged connection and is compatible with primary secondary air (psa) systems up to 125 psi. The separator works by using a coalescing medium that captures and removes small air bubbles and dirt particles from the fluid stream. As the fluid flows through the separator, the coalescing medium separates the air and dirt from the water, allowing it to be discharged through a purge valve. 4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
