This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 49025ADH, is a high velocity separator that effectively removes air and dirt from hydronic systems. The separator features a 2.5" flanged connection and can operate at a maximum pressure of 125 psi. The device works by utilizing centrifugal force to separate air and dirt particles from the water in the system. As water enters the separator, it is forced to change direction, causing heavier particles to be flung towards the outer wall of the device while lighter particles move towards the center where they are collected and removed through a float-style automatic air vent. This process helps prevent damage to pumps, valves, and other components in the system caused by air or dirt buildup.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
