This Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air and Dirt Separator, Model 4906ADHG, is a high velocity separator designed to remove air and dirt from hydronic systems. With a 6" grooved connection, it can withstand pressures up to 125 psi. The separator works by using the principle of centrifugal force to remove air and dirt particles from the water in the system. As water enters the separator, it is forced through a series of fins that spin the water around at high speeds. This spinning motion causes heavier particles like dirt and debris to be flung towards the outer edge of the separator where they can be easily removed. Meanwhile, lighter air bubbles rise to the top of the separator and are vented out through an automatic air vent. This results in cleaner water circulating through the system, leading to improved efficiency and reduced maintenance costs over time.
4900 Series Overview
Taco 4900 Series Commercial Air & Dirt Separators efficiently remove air, dirt, and other contaminants from system components, enhancing efficiency and longevity. They use patented PALL ring technology to eliminate micro-bubbles and debris, while an optional magnet collects iron oxide and magnetite.
These separators also feature a vent mechanism for releasing merged micro-bubbles and a blowdown valve to dispose of dirt. The magnet, easily activated by a handle, simplifies maintenance and magnetite removal. They are suitable for systems with variable speed and constant flow.
Taco 4900 Series separators are constructed and tested to ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards. Their design is guided by computerized selection, tailored for each application. All manufacturing occurs in-house, ensuring quality. Independent third-party tests validate performance.
