This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a class 30 cast iron casing with an integrally cast mounting foot and center-line discharge for air venting. The unit integrates a stainless steel impeller dynamically balanced to ANSI Grade G6.3 and a dry shaft design that prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the stainless steel shaft. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve protects the shaft assembly, while a mechanical seal with a ceramic seat and EPT rubber components maintains system integrity at temperatures up to 250°F. The pump casing contains gauge ports at the suction and discharge connections, a bottom drain port, and a replaceable bronze wear ring to improve hydraulic efficiency.
The motor operates at 5 HP with a premium efficiency rating, a TEFC enclosure, and a speed of 1750 RPM, while incorporating Aegis grounding on a 200-230V / 3PH power supply with a DOE PEI of 0.44. The "S" in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
