This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a class 30 cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. The pump utilizes a dry shaft design that prevents circulating fluid from contacting the stainless steel shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. Mechanical sealing is achieved with a ceramic seat and EPT rubber, rated for 250 °F operation. The assembly permits service of the seal and internal components without disturbing system piping connections. Pressure tappings for gauges are located at both the suction and discharge connections, and the casing integrates a drain port at the bottom for fluid removal.
The motor is a 15 HP premium efficiency TEFC model operating at 1750 RPM, utilizing Aegis grounding for protection and accepting a 200-230V, 3PH power supply, with a DOE PEI rating of 0.47. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
