This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a hydraulically balanced bronze impeller. The design integrates a stainless steel shaft with a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve, utilizing a dry shaft construction to prevent circulating fluid from contacting the shaft. A mechanical seal incorporating a silicon-carbide seat half and EPT rubber ensures fluid containment during operation. Rated for a maximum pressure of 125 PSI, the pump architecture supports simplified maintenance through a bearing frame that allows for component access without disturbing system piping. Gauge ports are provided at the suction and discharge connections to facilitate system monitoring.
The assembly is driven by a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM, which integrates Aegis grounding and functions on 380-460V / 3PH power, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.47. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
