This end suction pump utilizes a class 30 cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a center-line discharge for positive air venting. The bronze impeller connects to the shaft with a key and maintains dynamic balance to ANSI Grade G6.3. Its dry shaft construction prevents contact with circulating fluid, protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve and a stainless steel shaft. A ceramic mechanical seal with EPT rubber provides pressure containment up to 125 PSI, supported by a replaceable bronze wear ring.
The assembly utilizes a 40 HP premium efficiency ODP motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with an electro-mechanical bypass, main disconnect, 5kA SCCR, drive fusing, and a 3rd contactor while maintaining a NEMA 1 / IP 21 enclosure rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
