This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and an integrally cast mounting foot. The internal assembly comprises a bronze impeller coupled to a stainless steel shaft, protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve utilizing a dry shaft design to prevent fluid contact. A ceramic mechanical seal with EPT rubber components maintains fluid integrity, while the casing supports a 125 PSI pressure rating and incorporates a bronze wear ring. The bearing housing contains permanently lubricated, sealed-for-life ball bearings that permit maintenance without system piping removal. Pressure tappings at the suction and discharge connections facilitate system monitoring.
The assembly utilizes a 10 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.45. The "S" in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 4X / IP 66 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
