This base-mounted end suction pump comprises a cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. The assembly utilizes a dry shaft design, which prevents contact between the circulating fluid and the stainless steel shaft. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve protects the shaft, while a ceramic and EPT mechanical seal maintains system integrity at 125 PSI. This pump provides hydraulic balance through back vanes or balancing holes. Pressure tappings are integrated into the suction and discharge connections for system monitoring, while flush seal line taps allow for the installation of external filters. The unit supports parallel pumping and multi-pump control configurations to manage system flow.
The system is powered by a 5 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding on a 380-460V three-phase power supply, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.45. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
