This base-mounted end suction pump is constructed with a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The assembly utilizes a dry shaft design that prevents fluid contact with the stainless steel shaft, which is protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. For fluid sealing, the unit incorporates a mechanical seal assembly comprising a ceramic seat and EPT rubber. The pump design maintains a pressure rating of 125 PSI without a wear ring and provides center-line discharge for air venting. The bearing frame houses permanently lubricated, sealed-for-life ball bearings that support the shaft assembly.
Power is provided by a 40 HP premium efficiency ODP motor operating at 1750 RPM, which integrates Aegis grounding and utilizes a 200-230V 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 1 / IP 21 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
