This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller to facilitate hydraulic performance. The assembly integrates a stainless steel shaft paired with a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve, constructed with a dry shaft design that supports operation up to 125 PSI. A mechanical seal comprising a ceramic seat and EPT rubber components isolates the shaft from the circulating fluid. This configuration provides center-line discharge for air venting and allows for field maintenance of the seal and internal components without disturbing the surrounding piping system.
The pump integrates a 15 HP, premium efficiency, TEFC motor operating at 3450 RPM, with Aegis grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.45. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
