This base-mounted end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing with center-line discharge and a bronze impeller. The design utilizes a dry shaft configuration, preventing contact between the circulating fluid and the stainless steel shaft. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve protects the shaft while providing a surface for the mechanical seal, which comprises an EPT rubber component and a ceramic seat. Rated for 125 PSI, the construction includes a wear ring for performance during operation. Pressure tappings are integrated into the suction and discharge connections to facilitate system monitoring.
This assembly utilizes a 40 HP Premium Efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM, integrated with Aegis grounding and powered by a 380-460V / 3PH supply, achieving a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
