This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a class 30 cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a bronze impeller. The construction incorporates a dry shaft design that prevents circulating fluid from contacting the stainless steel shaft, which remains protected by a replaceable bronze shaft sleeve. A ceramic mechanical seal with EPT elastomers maintains sealing integrity at pressures up to 125 PSI. The pump provides a center-line discharge for air venting and includes pressure tappings on both suction and discharge connections to facilitate gauge installation.
The assembly operates with a 40 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor at 1750 RPM, utilizing Aegis shaft grounding and a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
