This close-coupled end suction pump consists of a cast iron casing and a bronze impeller. The design integrates a dry shaft with a bronze shaft sleeve to isolate the shaft from the circulating fluid, limiting exposure to corrosion. A mechanical seal utilizes a ceramic seat and EPT rubber to maintain pressure integrity up to 125 PSI without the use of a wear ring. The assembly accommodates standard system connections and incorporates flush seal line taps to allow for optional particle filtration in open systems. Pressure tappings are located on the suction and discharge connections to facilitate system monitoring.
The assembly utilizes a 40 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and 380-460V / 3PH power, achieving a DOE PEI of 0.46. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
