This base-mounted end suction pump utilizes a cast iron casing with integrally cast mounting feet and a center-line discharge configuration to facilitate air venting. The assembly incorporates a bronze impeller and a stainless steel shaft, protected by the Taco dry shaft design that prevents contact between the shaft and circulating fluid. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve covers the shaft, while the mechanical seal utilizes a ceramic seat and EPT rubber, rated for 125 PSI operation. Pressure tappings at the suction and discharge ports permit system monitoring, and the construction allows for service without removing the system piping.
Powered by a 10 HP premium efficiency TEFC motor operating at 3450 RPM, the assembly integrates Aegis grounding on a 380-460V / 3PH power supply, resulting in a DOE PEI rating of 0.47. The "S" in the SFI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
