This close-coupled end suction pump incorporates a cast iron casing with a bronze impeller and a bronze shaft sleeve. The dry shaft construction eliminates contact between the circulating fluid and the shaft, which removes the necessity for corrosion-resistant shaft materials. A ceramic seat and EPT rubber mechanical seal maintain hydraulic integrity, while flush seal line taps allow for the installation of filters to protect against non-condensable particles in open systems. Suction and discharge pressure tappings assist in monitoring system performance. Slip-on shaft sleeves simplify field maintenance of the mechanical seal.
Powering the assembly is a 5 HP Premium Efficiency ODP motor operating at 1750 RPM with Aegis grounding and a 200-230V / 3PH power supply. The 'S' in the SCI series denotes Taco's advanced Self-Sensing technology, which eliminates remote sensors and field wiring by using internal mathematical algorithms to calculate system resistance and automate variable flow. The included VFD is configured with a fused disconnect without bypass and holds an enclosure NEMA 12 / IP 55 rating. The drive ships unmounted for customer wall installation without a bracket, harness, or vibration mounts.
